How Do I Import Time Records?

Overview

Matters.Cloud provides a simple to use facility to import existing time data when migrating from third party applications.

Import Formats

The following file formats are supported:
  1. Microsoft Excel (.xlsx)
  2. Comma Separated (.csv)

Import Process

Step 1: Download Import Format

To download the import format, select Time > All time and locate the Import button:



Download the appropriate Template using the links provided:



Step 2: Populate File Content

Populate the template with time entries exported from your third-party application.

The time import template includes fields such as:

dateTime entry date
client_codeClient code from the source system
related_toRecord type the time entry is linked to (e.g. Matter or Opportunity)
related_idMatter or Opportunity reference from the source system
activity_codeActivity code from source system
ownerTime entry owner
rateHourly rate
currencyCurrency of the time entry
hoursNumber of hours recorded
billable_statusBillable status (e.g. Billable / Non-billable)
narrativeDescription of the work performed
billed_amountAmount billed
bill_statusBilling status

Step 3: Import File

Select the file to import using the Choose File button and then click the Import button.
