Klyant: Frequently Asked Questions
Introduction
Klyant is a legal accounting and credit control platform designed to help law firms manage their financial processes, including client billing, invoice management, payment tracking, and financial reporting. It helps legal practices streamline their accounts workflows while maintaining accurate financial records.
Integrating Matters.Cloud with Klyant can enhance the efficiency of your legal practice by connecting matter management and financial operations. However, with integration comes a set of questions that both new and prospective users often ask. This knowledge base article addresses the most common questions to help you understand how these two platforms work together and what you need to consider when using or planning to use Klyant with Matters.Cloud.
What Versions Of Klyant Do You Integrate With?
Klyant does not split into separate tiered product versions (such as Basic or Enterprise editions). Instead, Klyant is delivered as a single, unified cloud-based legal accounting platform tailored for different user types and regional regulatory frameworks.
What Size Of Organizations Does Klyant Support?
Klyant is designed to support law firms of various sizes, from smaller practices to larger organisations. It helps firms manage their billing, credit control, and financial workflows regardless of their size.
What Countries Does Klyant Support?
Klyant primarily supports law firms in the United Kingdom (England, Wales, and Northern Ireland) and the Republic of Ireland.
What Languages Does Klyant Support?
- English – the primary language used throughout the platform and its documentation.
Why Has My Klyant Connection Expired?
Matters.Cloud connects to Klyant using OAuth-based authentication rather than storing a user's password. As part of QuickBooks' security model, the access and refresh tokens used to maintain the connection have defined validity periods and may be revoked or expire for security reasons.
This can occur if the refresh token is not used within the permitted timeframe, if the user's QuickBooks account or permissions change, if the authorisation is manually revoked, or if QuickBooks' security policies invalidate the existing credentials.
When this occurs, the user will need to re-authorise the connection between Matters.Cloud and QuickBooks to restore access.
