Klyant: Setting Up Your Initial Data

Introduction


There are two options when setting up your initial integration with Klyant:
  1. Import existing Clients and Matters from Klyant into Matters.Cloud.
  2. Export existing Clients, Matters, Invoices and Credit notes from Matters.Cloud to Klyant.

Option 1: Import From Klyant

If you are an existing subscriber of Klyant, you may wish to import your existing Clients and Matters into Matters.Cloud.

Step 1: Access The Integrations Portal

The Integrations portal allows you to configure integrations with common cloud-based platforms.
To access the portal, select Setup > Integrations and locate the Klyant tile.



Step 2: Import Existing Clients

Click the Import > Import clients button on the Klyant tile.



The system will display a list of available Clients.
Select one or more Clients and click Import to import them into Matters.Cloud.

Step 3: Import Existing Matters

Click the Import > Import matters button on the Klyant tile.



The system will display a list of available Matters.
Select one or more Matters and click Import to import them into Matters.Cloud.

Note: Only Clients and Matters that have not previously been imported into Matters.Cloud will be available for selection.

Option 2: Export To Klyant

If you are an existing subscriber of Matters.Cloud and have recently set up Klyant, you may wish to export your existing Clients, Matters, Invoices and Credit notes to Klyant.

Step 1: Access The Integrations Portal

The Integrations portal allows you to configure integrations with common cloud-based platforms.
To access the portal, select Setup > Integrations and locate the Klyant tile.



Step 2: Export Existing Clients

Export your existing Clients by clicking the Export > Export clients button on the Klyant tile.



This will do the following:
  1. Create a corresponding Client in Klyant for each selected Client in Matters.Cloud.
  2. Update Matters.Cloud so that future changes made to the Client are automatically published to Klyant.
Step 3: Export Existing Matters

Export your existing Matters by clicking the Export > Export matters button on the Klyant tile.


This will do the following:
  1. Create a corresponding Matter in Klyant for each selected Matter in Matters.Cloud.
  2. Update Matters.Cloud so that future changes made to the Matter are automatically published to Klyant.
Step 4: Export Existing Invoices and Credit notes

Export your existing Invoices and Credit notes by clicking the Export > Export invoices button on the Klyant tile.



This will do the following:
  1. Create a corresponding Invoice in Klyant for each Invoice or Credit note in Matters.Cloud.
  2. Update Matters.Cloud so that future changes made to the Invoice or Credit note are automatically published to Klyant.

Note: If you have previously created Clients, Matters, Invoices or Credit notes manually in Klyant, it is recommended that you review them before exporting from Matters.Cloud to avoid creating duplicate records.
