Two-Factor Authentication Using Microsoft Authenticator

Introduction

Two factor authentication adds an additional layer of security to your Matters.Cloud account and Client data. When you enable two-factor authentication in Matters.Cloud, users will be required to log in with their email address, password and a random numeric code generated by the Microsoft Authenticator application which is available for iPhone and Android.

Setup Instructions

Users can enable two factor authentication via their user profile. The steps are:
  1. Login to Matters.Cloud
  2. Click on your name in the top right hand corner and select Edit user profile
  3. Select the 'Security' tab and enable Two factor authentication via the following option. 



You will then be provided with simple instructions, together with a barcode to scan:

Setup Instructions - Microsoft Authenticator

1. Using Microsoft Authenticator, press the + button
2. Select 'Other (Google, Facebook, etc)
3. Use your phone's camera to scan the barcode.

Confirm Two-Factor Authentication

Once you have added the barcode to your authentication application it will provide you with an 6 digit code. Enter this into the code field within Matters.Cloud and click submit to confirm your two factor setup.

Secure Login Using Two Factor

Once you have enabled two factor authentication, you will be required to enter a randomized code from your Microsoft Authenticator app on your device each time you login to Matters.Cloud from a new location.
