Creating New Workspaces Within NetDocuments Via Clio

Creating New Workspaces Within NetDocuments Via Clio

Introduction

When using Clio together with NetDocuments a basic integration exists allowing you to generate clients and matters from within Clio instead of having to type them into the NetDocuments administrative interface.

In this knowledge base article, we will guide you through the process of creating new workspaces in NetDocuments from Clio.

Create Client and Matter Within Clio

When using Clio, navigate to an existing matter and access the Documents tab.
Ensure you have selected 'NetDocuments' and you will then be presented with the option to either Link to an existing NetDocuments Client, or to create a new one.

Note: In most circumstances you will use the Create a new Client in NetDocuments option

Once you have either linked or created a new client you will have an option to create a new matter as follows:

Note: When creating the matter you will be prompted to confirm the matter name, with the default value being just the client and matter code for example EXA001.1. It is recommended that you retype the name of the matter in the following format 'EXA001.1 - Advice in relation to employment issue' as this will make it possible to search by matter name within NetDocuments.

This will then allow you to access the client or matter within both Clio and NetDocuments.
